THE WAYS WE WILL HELP YOU
An examination will be performed, consisting of taking a patient history, range of motion testing, orthopedic examination, and palpatory examination. Once performed, you’ll receive a Reports of Findings and Consultation. This is where we discuss your condition, discuss the likely diagnosis, and provide treatment recommendations, both in-office and at-home treatments.
The staple treatment of any Chiropractic office, a Chiropractic adjustment is a therapeutic treatment designed to restore normal joint function by decreasing pain and restoring proper joint movement. We usually do this by hand, though sometimes we will use specialized equipment or tables designed specifically for this purpose. These adjustments are specific to your need and help alleviate your pain while at the same time improving/restoring your normal joint motion, strength, and mobility.

Myofascial Release
Myofascial release is a soft-tissue technique used to improve muscle mobility and reduce pain by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles. Not to be confused with a massage, we’ll apply pressure to trigger points (“knots") we find in your muscles while you move your joint through normal motion. The result is less pain and better movement.

Physiotherapy modalities are often used to assist our treatment protocol. Though these vary, they are typically utilized to reduce your pain levels and reduce your overall inflammation/swelling levels. Therapeutic Ultrasound and ice are typically utilized when we have large amounts of inflammation and we’re trying to bring them under control. Conversely, electrical stimulation and heat are typically used when we’ve successfully reduce the inflammation levels and we’ve now switched focus on reducing muscle hypertonicity/tightness and trying to restore/improve motion.
Therapeutic Stretches are prescribed to reduce muscle tightness, restore proper lymphatic drainage of inflammation, and reduce overall pain. Therapeutic Exercises are prescribed to correct impairments, restore muscular strength and skeletal function, and improve overall mobility. We will select appropriate stretches and exercises tailored to address your specific needs and goals.
If you’ve ever seen bright pink or blue tape on an athletes body, it was likely Kinesio Taping. Kinesio Taping helps stabilize the injured area by adhering to your skin and applying pressure to the taped tissues. Designed to simultaneously support the connective tissues while allowing lymphatic drainage of inflammation, Kinesio Tape is flexible and pliable and can be readily used in both daily living and athletic endeavors.

IASTT - Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue therapy (aka, Scraping, Gua-Sha)
IASTT helps break down scar tissue and fascia restrictions that may be present, typically the result of localized trauma to the soft tissues (eg, pulled muscle, sprained ligament). A tool (typically made of smooth, polished metal) is used to gently scrap back and forth over the afflicted tissue, causing a breaking down of the scar tissue. Though not always comfortable, it is highly effective and we will never exceed your pain limitations or force you to endure excessive amounts of this therapy.

Myofascial Decompression is another form of soft tissue therapy designed to reduce scar tissue and improve lymphatic drainage of inflammation. Based originally on the Cupping treatment seen in traditional Chinese medicine, the cup is place directly over the soft tissue involved. The cup either remains in position for a time or is moved back and forth by gliding over the skin. You may be asked to perform movements while the cup is in place, such as performing a squat if your hamstring muscle is involved.
Therapeutic Stretches are prescribed to reduce muscle tightness, restore proper lymphatic drainage of inflammation, and reduce overall pain. They are the easiest First Step in a rehabilitative program by addressing muscles that may be contributing to movement restrictions to the joint(s).
Therapeutic Exercises are prescribed to improve muscular deficiencies, restore muscular cooperative contraction and skeletal function, and improve overall mobility. We will select appropriate stretches and exercises tailored to address your specific needs and goals.

Mobility Training
Mobility Training is all about maximizing your body's range of movement and motion potential. These exercises work to improve not only flexibility, but also balance, tissue pliability and performative strength. This is all about reaching your full potential!

Guided supplementation can be used throughout the stages of care and relies upon assisting your body's built-in restorative mechanisms. Early in care, supplements that help reduce inflammation and control muscular spasm help bring you out of pain. As care progresses beyond acute management, supplementation can be added to help you "level up" to subacute, maintenance, and eventually performance levels of care.

IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE ADDICTIVE?
Chiropractic care is not a habit-forming treatment.
